Timeless Treasures Ivory will be the background of choice for this quilt. It is just beautiful and there is a sample posted. If you would like the solid white Bella Solid by Moda we have that available. Now as for the Timeless Treasures Ivory, this is such a gorgeous fabric! If you are looking for a fabric that has the look of being in a museum and being aged this is it! The variation in this fabric makes it look as if it has been touched by the graces of time. One might even say it has a slightly stained effect. I love that! Without a doubt I will be using this in my Friends of Baltimore! In Sue Garman's directions she was clear to pick a background that could hold up to having a lot of applique on it. Both the Bella Solid and the Timeless Treasures Ivory do just that as well as needle beautifully!
Ok, here's how this will work. On this BOM you will receive 2 blocks per month or a border for $37.95. The reason why this is a little more than the standard BOM is because there are 2 blocks (or a border) and there is substantially much more fabric in these kits! Each month you will also receive the patterns for both blocks or the border as well as the backgrounds that have already been cut for you!
BONUS! Sue Garman, the very talented designer of this pattern, has included hints, tips and tricks! Even alternate directions to simplify this quilt if you wish! That is awesome! I simply cannot say enough about how well the directions have been laid out, each piece already numbered for you, and how much love and effort has been put into this pattern!
Believe me, this is a quilt you can do and will be a treasured heirloom for generations to come!
Now some of you may be thinking there is no way you can get 2 done per month! Not to worry! What I would do is get a special box for this quilt. When the next block arrives, collect and place it the box then keep working on the block you have prepped! (I personally love those fancy boxes that you can get at Micheal's craft store 1/2 off that look like suitcases). I will try to remember to post a picture of mine on my blog. That would be a perfect storage box. Or a plastic box with a lid would do fine too! The important things is in one year you will have all the blocks with the patterns and all the fabrics in your posession just waiting for you to finish them at your leisure!
